I'm looking for someone willing to do two main tasks for my elderly dad. The position may expand in future to include other services (e.g. laundry, light house-keeping between visits from his cleaning lady) as his mobility deteriorates. His two currant needs are: (1) someone to run errands (mail letters, pick up the odd thing from Canadian Tire, the grocery store, etc); (2) someone to drag his garbage/recycling bins to the curb, and back again. This makes it a two-day gig (afternoon before garbage day, morning of garbage day). He is fine at the moment with putting the garbage out every two weeks. My name is Kayla and we are looking for a part-time companion for my mother, Carol, who has suffered from lithium poisoning. She is 66 years old and is currently living with my father but she needs more care than what he is able to give. It is beginning to take a toll on him. I am posting this add in hopes of finding care. Her illness presents itself as dementia or mental confusion/impairment. She is often confused and needs help with things around the house. We are looking for someone who can take her to appointments, spend time with her and take her on outings. A huge bonus would be if you would be able to do exercise with her. She needs more structure in her life. She is bipolar but is on consistent medication, otherwise extremely happy. She suffers from anxiety on occasion but with medication and positivity we are able to keep it at bay and help her. Hours would be three days a week, six hours per day. Pay is negotiable .
