I am seeking a compassionate, experienced female caregiver, comfortable with providing personal care to an elderly female patient. The care recipient, an 80-year-old English speaking woman, has significant health challenges - diabetes requiring thrice-daily insulin injections, osteoporosis, some memory issues, and considerable mobility problems. The primary responsibility would revolve around her health needs - administering insulin injections, monitoring her blood sugar levels, and helping her with daily movement exercises. Additionally, the caregiver would be expected to perform daily oversight and light housekeeping tasks like laundry, vacuuming, and maintaining cleanliness in her room and ensuite bathroom. Also, part of this role includes the preparation and serving of lunch in her bedroom daily. Also required would be the care of two pets, one small 17 lb dog and one 75 lb dog, both are friendly and require to be let out into the back yard and let back in and provide water during the day. The ideal candidate should have experience working with patients suffering from diabetes, mobility issues, and incontinence. Familiarity with handling patients who are bedridden and have arthritis will be an added advantage. The role requires a valid driver's license and the use of your own car. Work requirements would primarily be Monday to Friday, from 1 pm to 5 pm, with some morning hours on select days depending on our family's schedule. This part-time role is live-out and would amount to approximately 20-30 hours per week. The job responsibilities encompass toileting assistance, range of motion exercise, housekeeping, laundry, bathroom cleaning, minor pet care, assistance with walking, vacuuming, and administering injections. If you are a seasoned caregiver who believes they can make a positive difference in my mother's life, the role is slated to begin on January 2, 2024. Your compassion, dedication, and skill could significantly improve the quality of her life, providing both her and our family peace of mind. References must be available from Canadian clients
