We are the friendly and generous Pitts from Meadows!
SUMMARY
We are looking for someone who would like to do household management during the day while the kids are in school, then do after school activities with the kids when they’re done school for the day. Our current nanny is moving to Australia.
We have one boy in Grade 1 and the other in Grade 3 French at Meadows Elementary.
*please note that if something in the posting doesn't work for you, let me know and maybe we can work something out* . This can also be a part-time role during the school year (ex. 1:30pm to 6pm Mon to Thurs) But we do need someone for pro-d days, sick days, spring break, Xmas break, summers. Having a car/driver's license is mandatory.
SCHEDULE
School Days
10am to 6pm, Monday to Thursday or 12 to 6?
7am to 2pm, or 7am to 10am Friday
Non-School Days (pro-d days, sick days, spring/summer break, etc)
830am to 430pm, Monday to Thursday
7am to 2pm, Fridays (flexible on the time)
We’re pretty organized, structured AND easy going around here, this is generally how the days would go.
830am - Mom drops the kids off at school in the morning on the way to work.
10am - Nanny would arrive and do the cleaning, laundry, meal prep, groceries, errands, etc. The nanny would receive full-time pay and lots of free time when there isn’t much that needs to be done while the kids are in school.
220pm - Pick up kids from school and take them to an activity, make sure homework gets done
5pm - Feed them dinner, make sure the house is tidy
6pm - Dad arrives home from work/the gym
RESPONSIBILITIES
Care for the kids, keep them safe (of course)
Make meals and clean up kitchen after meals. Kids are mostly vegetarian/vegan, but don’t let this scare you. They literally just eat chopped fresh fruit, veg, bread. No elaborate meals needed.
Keeping the floors clean after their meals and tracking dirt in/out of the house.
Laundry
To/from school, activities safely
Play and have fun with the kids – going to the park, play in our big, private backyard, walks, crafts, songs, books, play dates. Take them to indoor climbing, swimming, golfing, skating, etc. Planning engaging days when not in school.
We are screen-free, so the kids do not watch TV or play with phones/tablets/computers. They can listen to audiobooks.
Keeping the house clean: Vacuuming, bathrooms, dusting, other cleaning projects
Kids generally spend a few hours every couple of weeks with grandparents, so you could do some extra cleaning then or take time off
Groceries, errands, ironing, etc.

MORE ABOUT US
My husband and I are both 40 years old, have been together for 18 years and lived in Meadows for the last 14 years. Dad owns a successful mechanical contracting company out of Coquitlam and Mom has a career in Human Resources and works downtown. When Mom returned to work after her first mat leave, she found it too overwhelming to work full time and look after the family. So, instead of putting both kids in daycare, it’s better for us to have a nanny who can feed the kids and clean up after them.
8YO is very smart. He has a great memory, loves to learn, extremely well behaved, aims to please, pretty much looks after himself. Analytical, happy, loves all his extra-curricular activities, sports, art, speaking French, and his friends.
6YO is passionate, hilarious, and loving. His favorite activities are “yard work”, biking, going to the library, reading, skating, swimming.
We run a loosely-Montessori style household, treat the kids with utmost respect, support their independence, like structure, and want our kids to be happy, healthy and polite. We’ve been running things based on what’s worked well for us but are very open to suggestions on how to improve.
