| We require some childcare and help around the house in the mid to late afternoon and early evenings. Right now this involves some help with family laundry and meal preparation, and looking after our daughter when necessary. When our daughter goes to pre-school this will involve similar household tasks, a little bit of house cleaning, picking up our daughter from pre-school (most likely within walking distance of our home), and looking after her until we can take over. We currently have a full-time nanny who finishes at 4 p.m., but she will no longer be with us once our daughter goes to pre-school. We think 3-4 hours a day would be typical and we expect to pay an hourly rate of around $10.
We have a cleaner once a week so heavy cleaning will not be involved but we will require help to keep the house generally clean and tidy the rest of the time, and also help with some meal prep and laundry.
We eat a healthy diet with lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, and eat very little packaged food so the meal prep will involve things like making fruit salads and purees, prepptin green salads and fresh vegetables and some help with making large batches of food that we freeze (e.g. stews, sauces).
Help around the house may involve vacuuming or sweeping and mopping to keep main floor clean, loading/unloading dishwasher and some handwashing of dishes, sweeping up decks and front walkways, folding and putting away family laundry, ironing. |
