Company Operating: Gabrielle , Taylor Address: Campbell River, V9H 1J3 Job Title: In-home nanny Terms of Employment: Permanent Wage: $16.75 starting, reviewed annually Location of Work: Campbell River, BC Job Description: The nanny will primarily be responsible for providing childcare for our family as well as looking after requested household tasks and errands. Responsibilities: • Supervising and caring for children in our own residence • Providing age-appropriate activities and games for the child, including but not limited to drawing, crafts, puzzles, etc. • Preparing meals and snacks and feeding the child (including bottle-feeding baby) • Changing diapers regularly • Ensuring nap schedules provided are adhered to • Teaching child socially acceptable behaviours, such as being respectful and kind and listening • Transporting child to and from activities or appointments as requested • Always keeping the safety of the child as a top priority, including ensuring car seats are fastened correctly, supervising child to ensure safe play, adhering to driving laws at all times, staying home if sick, applying sunscreen, etc. • Tending to the emotional wellbeing of the child, including always responding to the child if they are upset or crying • Updating parents daily on the child’s daily activities and behavior • Disciplining child when necessary, such as when the child is not listening to directions, in a calm and age-appropriate manner (such as calmly and firmly explaining why the behavior is not appropriate, time outs, setting clear rules and expectations, etc.) • Performing housekeeping tasks as requested, including but not limited to: vacuuming, keeping the kitchen clean, cleaning washrooms, tidying, laundry, or other tasks as requested • Performing chores and errands as requested, including but not limited to grocery shopping Skills Requirements • University degree, preferably in education • Infant and child first aid • Artistic skills are preferred, including piano, painting, drawing, other musical instruments • Must speak and read English fluently, fluent in Mandarin or Cantonese • Past experience as a teacher and/or nanny preferred
