I’m currently in search of reliable assistance for the morning and evening routines with my daughters... specifically, help with breakfast, getting dressed, and transportation to and from their school. My mother, who would ordinarily be a source of support, is unfortunately hospitalized for an indefinite period. This has left me as the primary caregiver, juggling my own health issues with my responsibilities as a parent.
In June 2020, I experienced a hemorrhagic stroke which led to paralysis in my left arm and leg. Despite my physical challenges, however, I make do and maintain a positive spirit! :) My primary need is for someone to help care for my girls before their school starts and after it ends.
To give you a bit more insight about my family, I have two delightful daughters who are both on the autism spectrum. Sydney, my elder girl, is in 4th grade, while her younger sister Morgan is in 2nd grade. They both attend Southside Public School.
Our morning routine essentially involves waking the girls up, preparing and serving breakfast, assisting them in getting dressed and then transporting them safely to school. On the other hand, our after-school routine is slightly critical. It would involve picking them up from school, bringing them back home, preparing and serving dinner, helping them bathe and finally getting them prepared for school the following day.
Being able to successfully juggle these tasks offers a sense of normalcy and continuity in our routine, which greatly benefits my daughters given their autism. It may seem mundane, but these routines provide structure and stability, elements my girls thrive on.
I look forward to finding someone who can help us maintain this sense of normalcy, offering a helping hand in our daily routines, to ensure my daughters continue to thrive.
