Hello! My name is Jessica . I have recently moved from Australia to Banff for a change of scenery/ experience the cold weather! Throughout my life I have always worked with children because I've genuinely enjoyed it! I love the energy kids bring to a day. I have always worked with children up until I graduated for University with a Bachelor's in Agribusiness. Due to my degree for the past two years I have been living in Bargara Queensland and working on my family farm growing Macadamias. A bit about me! I love the outdoors. Working on a farm I enjoyed all that came with it including just driving around on quad bikes, dirt bikes, tractors and all sorts of machinery. I also love the water. In Australia I would spend my weekends boating, wakeboarding, fishing or 'attempting' to surf. My brothers and I also share these hobbies so we tend to go on a few fishing trips throughout the year. I am an approachable positive individual always willing to hear people stories and hopefully learn some skills along the way! I am always up for a challenge and eager to develop myself. I am respectful in others beliefs and desires for how to manage their children. If any issues or challenges arise I am confident and clear to communicate any concerns or confusions I might have. Hello! My experience started within my family life as I am 1 of 6 children. So I have always been surrounded by children, chaos and noise! However, my professional childcare career began just out of school (age 17) as I was a live in Nanny on a Sydney horse racing property. I cared for a 2 and 4-year-old while parents worked. Along with caring for the children this role included general housekeeping, basic cooking, and organisation of the daily routines of the children and household. After the year as a nanny, I moved back to my home town and worked as an outside hours care educator from 2019 to 2021. Responsibilities included; • Responsibly managed various age groups of children. Creatively and safely ran various craft, cooking, science, and sport activities. • Carried out every day cleaning duties to ensure compliant with relevant health regulations. • Participated in team meetings and discussions. • Creating strong and friendly relationships with student and understanding their individual level of needs to incorporate a safe and supported centre. • Observed play activities and identified positive behaviours and area’s which need improvement, implementing behaviour redirection where appropriate. Moreover, during 2019 - 2021 while working as an educator I would babysit the Dietz family children weekly. In this role I would assist in afterschool pick-up’s, homework, and afternoon entertainment. General house cleaning and cooking. This family involved caring for a 1 year old, 3 year old and 5 year old. Furthermore, during my life I have done regular babysitting for family and friends.
