From 1997 to present is where my experience of childcare has happened. I have firsthand knowledge of what it takes to tend to the needs of infants through to young adults, as I myself have been blessed to be the mother of 5 amazing children, each 2 years apart. They are now all raised to adulthood, with my youngest about to turn 18 years shortly. They are my pride and joy. I have learned so much from being a mother, patience, resilience, finding joy in the simple things just to name a few. It has been rewardingly fulfilling. Although I still hold the title of "Mom", I'm now not needed as frequently in their life. I am setting out on a new journey. I have missed the sweet days of taking care of little ones and found my greatest joys in watching them learn and experiencing new things, so what better way to combine a career with something I love and comes naturally to me, taking care of children. I have not formally worked during the duration of being a mother, and therefore I do not have any official work references. However, I have taken in babysitting of family and friends' children when they needed my assistance, and I can provide their contact information upon request. I also do a lot of volunteer work in the community. I have recently finished the Palliative Care Course where I was taught many skills such as dealing with unexpected situations, understanding the needs of others through watching body language and picking up on ques etc. All of which will be an asset in childcare. I am in the process of beginning my placement at the Brockville General Hospital where, in my free time, I will provide some upliftment and support to the terminally ill and their families. For the past 2 years I have done a weekly volunteer shift at The Brockville and area Foodbank. This experience has given me an opportunity to work with many different types of people and remain positive with challenges I have had to encounter during interactions. I am easy going and very creative. I am a decent cook and know how to make mealtimes fun for picky eaters. I have my own vehicle and I'm flexible with hours. I will make sure that all is set in place before I end the day so that there are no worries for you to come home to. I remember all too well those days of being too tired to want to do more work. Your little ones will be of my utmost importance and I will make sure they are happy and healthy while in my care.

I worked in Calgary Alberta as a nanny of 5 children for 3 years from 1994-1997. Their age range when I started was 3.5yrs to 15yrs. My responsibilities included all day tending to and doing activities with the younger children. Driving the older children to activities. Drop off and pick up from school. Making meals for all and light housekeeping. I enjoyed my role and did not see it as a job, but more as a wonderful way to help shape lives and be a relief for their parents. I only came to end my position because I was beginning my married life and family of my own. I have held callings over the past 3 decades, in the local church I belong to that has had me in charge of kids. Nursery leader to upwards of 4 or more toddlers ages 1-3.5yrs. I did sing songs, activities and playtime all with a simple theme in mind. I provided healthy snacks, and took care of their basic needs while under my supervision. Primary Leader consisting of being in charge of 25-30 children at a time, 3.5yrs-12yrs. where I taught Sunday school lessons, did activities and was a chorister as they learned new music.
