I come from a creative family and was surrounded by music, dance, and literature, which paved the way to my becoming an English teacher. Eventually I decided to take a Nanny contract, and really loved it. In that contract, I homeschooled the oldest, and took the three eldest to activities every week including a sort of kids’ club, as well as swimming. It was a wonderful experience, and I remain in contact with that family till today. After that contract, I did various short and long term contracts. I have worked for various families, some long term, (3-7 years), and some more short term or temporary. I’ve worked with many babies in their first year, and toddlers/preschoolers, as well as elementary school aged children as well. I’ve done a lot of arts and crafts, helped with piano practice, and taught a lot of safe playground techniques for climbing, etc. The children enjoyed music and rhymes, blocks, arts and crafts, books, educational materials, outdoors, and nature. The parents and I enjoyed being a team, with lots of good exchanges and communication.
