Hello there, My name is Emily and I am a graduate from the Early Childhood Education program at Fleming College. I grew up always knowing that I wanted to work with children. I have been very fortunate in the experiences and opportunities that I have been a part of throughout my life and that have contributed to the educator I am now. I enjoy finding ways to create art, try out diy projects, swim, spend time outdoors, and find opportunities that will help better me for the future and spend time with my family, friends and dog. I have cared for children for many years now. In the last several years, I received my Early Childhood Education diploma and have worked in daycare and school settings. Previously to that I was caring for children in a nanny/mother's help position for several summers.. In my position as a summer nanny I helped to care for 5 children under the age of six and my tasks included preparing some meals, taking the kids outside for adventures, organizing age appropriate activities and looking after their safety and wellbeing. I also volunteered at my church in our infant care room for 5 years while parents attended the church service. I was responsible for keeping the children happy and busy and providing healthy snacks. In addition to these experiences I also was employed with an agency where I worked one on one with individuals who required extra support so I do have experience working with physical, mental and behavioural exceptionalites. I have completed the Early Childhood Education program at Fleming College in which I graduated with a diploma in Early Childhood Education and finished on the honour roll. I have my certification for CPR and First Aid which is up to date and current. I regularly look into further Education and workshops so that I am continuously growing as an educator. I have received the covid-19 vaccinations as well as have my safe food handlers certificate.

I have lived in a 2 parent household, With an older and younger sibling. I have a big family who likes to get together often so i’m surrounded by lots of cousins. I am athletic and love the outdoors. I raced motocross, played rugby and hockey. I also graduated from high school with honors in grade 12, and went in to complete my community justice degree at loyalist. I am single and live at home with my parents at this time. I have recived my first aid, and food handling certificates, overall I love to work with people and am always calm and caring. My childcare work experience has been very good so far, I love working around kids of all ages, I have worked with kids from 12 months old to 17 years old. All of the kids I have worked with this far have all been foster, and daycare children each of them are different in there own way and I love getting to know each of them. Some of the children I work with have been through some tough times so I always try to be there for them when they need someone to talk to or open up to.

I grew up babysitting my three younger brothers, but In 2019 my mom had another baby and from that point till now I was the babysitter for all four children Including my baby sister. I'm really close to my family because I believe it's one of the most important aspects of life, as you can always rely on them. I work with baby that were 18months to children that were 13 years old. i was giving them food, change diaper and a lot more stuff. I really enjoy my experienced over there.
