My name is Mikala, I am a full-time babysitter, and home daycare provider based in Fort Saskatchewan. As a mum to a 4-year old, I am empathetic and highly experienced in childcare, having spent the past 4 years working in daycares and volunteering as an EA for Edmonton public schools. I now operate as a Dayhome, providing intimate, hands-on, personalized before and after school care. My day commences quite early at 5am, accommodating early drop-offs, making breakfast, preparing the kids for school, then picking them up from school, providing a snack and homework help. I also provide a full time daycare where my schedule is flexible and packed with a mix of educational and recreational activities including playtime, nap time (for the younger kids), arts and crafts, and occasional park outings (weather permitting). I adhere to special dietary rules for kiddos with special dietary requirements (vegetarian, kosher, lactose intolerant, etc.). I can start immediately and am available every day of the week (Monday to Sunday), offering morning, midday, evening, and overnight care services. Though I prefer working with a maximum of three children at a time, my prior experience ranges across different age groups - from toddlers (1-2 years) to preteens (over 10 years). Furthermore, I am highly educated, having completed my CPR, First Aid Training, and college, and I am equipped to tutor your children as well. However, I must note that I cannot work with children with disabilities in order to provide my full attention to all the other children.
