Greetings! I am Mwape, an upbeat and outgoing person residing in Upper Kingsclear, ready to commence work immediately. My passion for childcare has been cultivated over two years of experience as a professional nanny, mastering the care of children between the ages of 3-5 years. My availability is flexible, mainly in the mornings and around mid-day from Monday to Sunday.
I am thrilled by the opportunity of assuming part-time roles such as Babysitter, Nanny, ECE, Virtual Babysitter, Mother's Helper, Nanny/Housekeeper, or a Nanny/Tutor. Being more than a mere observer, I love actively participating in kids' lives, by creating a fun, outdoorsy environment through sports and music. I'll ensure their creativity is nurtured even during rainy days, by engaging them in activities like painting and building with blocks.
Working with children from assorted backgrounds has heightened my problem-solving and listening abilities. My experience has taught me how vital empathy is to children's development, aiding them in self-understanding and regulation, especially in a post-pandemic educational setting. I find great joy in witnessing their delight when they achieve something new and rewarding.
Enlisting the help of music, I've discovered its usefulness as a pacifying tool for children. Not to mention the added joyfulness it brings to any setting. My duties extend beyond mere childcare, as I provide help with homework, meal preparation, keeping the kitchen clean, walking dogs, organizing events and planning. Despite my high school education, I am trained in First Aid, which would be a great addition to ensure your child's safety.
I am currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Law Justice and Society, with plans to advance either to law school or earn an education degree. I prefer a Live-Out arrangement, focusing on one child at a time for the best care. I am excited for the opportunity to bring positivity and care to your family.
ECE support at St. Joseph Alexander McKay School, 2021-2022: I was originally a lunch monitor but then I was moved to being a Support ECE with children at the kindergarten level. I helped with snack time, reading, making sure they followed the schedule. Playtime as well. I worked as a Calithumpian in 2018 for the summer, and worked with kids camps, by providing workshops that theatre based. SO helping them come up with songs for their plays, or on their breaks playing games with them. Those ages were from elementary to middle school students. I also worked at Kumon while in Highschool and I helped tutor kids with their reading and math homework. I worked primarily with children under the age of five years, and was in charge of organizing their work and helping them reach new levels with their reading. I would work with 1-2 kids at a time, helping them with their cognitive and problem solving skills.
I am currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Arts, majoring in Law Justice and Society, and minoring in music. My plan is to pursue a law or education degree after I'm done my undergraduate.
