As a Specialized Educator in a school setting, I've had multiple roles: - Teaching Assistant: Assisting the teacher in their lesson plan and classroom. Providing one on one support or small groups to students between the ages of 5 - 21 years old. Recess and lunch supervision Communication with teacher, students and parents Work in a multi-disciplinary team Provide support during a crisis Planning and implementing school/work related activities - Camp Counsellor: Connecting and building relationship with my group Provide a safe and fun environment for the group Create and aminate fun activities based on their interest, skills and needs Communication with parents on a day to day basis Working as a team with one or two camp counsellors - Assistant Camp Director/CIT Coordinator Taking part of the hiring process Plan and oversee day to day activities Supporting with organization of camp grounds, schedules and field trips Help with supervision and behaviour management of campers Communication between parents and camp counsellors Overseeing a group of young adults working for their WOTP certificates Supporting young adults with special needs to fulfill their tasks.
