I am currently studying history and kinesiology at VIU, with an aim to pursue an education degree, and my masters in counselling in the future. I'm an active person and I love being outside so that is a big part of how I spend my time with kids. We often go walking through the forest, spend a day at the beach collecting shells and swimming, or playing with other kiddos at the playground. If we're needing some inside time you might find us dancing, baking cookies, making our own playdough, or drawing.
I'm a very gentle and warm person, and I like to be silly and creative with kids. In addition to my work as a nanny, I've also spent time with teens in an outdoor education setting as well as providing nutrition workshops through a contract I had with a local high school.
I have my drivers licence and my own vehicle. I'm open to using my car, but the families I've previously worked for have always provided their vehicle for me to use.
I've worked for five families over the course of six years. Three of those families had two children that I cared for at the same time, one was just one kiddo, and the current family I work with has three kids. The kids ages have ranged from 1-8 years old. I have continued positive relationships with all of the families. My work with them ended after their kids either went to daycare and school, or they moved away.
I'm happy to provide references from any of the families I've worked with. I look forward to hearing from you, and hopefully getting the privilege of caring for your little one(s) (:
I have completed yoga trainings in vinyasa, prenatal, and yin. I graduated as a Registered Holistic Nutritionist in 2015 and taught at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition for three years. I finished a two-year Reproductive and Sexual Health program two years ago, and am currently in my third year of my history degree at VIU where I plan to complete a post-baccalaureate degree for education afterward, and my masters in counselling in the future!
