Hello everyone!
I'm Lelia, currently navigating my third year at the University of Ottawa, majoring in Marketing with a minor in Psychology. Along with my studies, I deeply adore children and have a lot of experience looking after my two younger sisters. As well as caring for my younger sisters, I also have experience babysitting cousins and kids from family friends.
I'm currently looking for a part-time nanny or babysitter position for the summer. I'm fully prepared to dive into a variety of tasks to ensure the kids are not only safe and comfortable but also having a blast.
Now, a bit more about me—I'm an incredibly active person with a profound love for music. Some of my favourite hobbies include snowboarding and playing the guitar. These passions not only keep me energized but also spark my creativity, allowing me to design engaging, fun, and educational experiences for kids. Whether we're exploring the great outdoors, having a fun music session, or crafting together, I'm all about creating an environment where children can learn, play, and grow.
Over the years, I have developed a strong foundation in childcare and early childhood development, both through hands-on experience and academic study. My journey in childcare began within my own family, where I frequently babysat my younger sisters at various stages of their lives. This included babysitting during the summers while our parents worked, organizing activities, and preparing meals, ensuring their days were both enjoyable and structured.
In addition to family responsibilities, I extended my childcare skills to looking after my cousins during periods when their parents were away. This experience taught me the importance of adaptability and understanding the unique needs of each child.
To further my understanding and capabilities in this field, I have completed a course in child development, alongside multiple psychology classes. These academic pursuits have equipped me with a deeper insight into child behavior, developmental stages, and effective communication strategies with children.
