Tina is a highly skilled nurse with a wide range of abilities, holding on strong to her values. Being happily married since 2012, she adores her children, Creative and artistic, she loves cooking and baking, somehow still finding time to exercise and meditate. Tina believes in creating a new system based on people, not profit, and is passionate about health care that is inclusive, authentic and sustainable. Born and raised in South-Western Ontario her friends and family recall outstanding abilities in art, and a genuine love of children and seniors. While participating in public speaking events at the age of 10, Tina has always been an outgoing and fearless advocate for those being denied fairness and justice. In early years she loved spending time at her Grandma's house and started caring about people at a very young age. Accompanying her Papa to the local Hospital's Continuing Care Unit at five years old. She would play in the activity room and read to residents. She felt safe there, surrounded by the stories of the past and comforted by the ease of small town life. She admired the work her Papa did and will forever credit him as being the inspiration for her career in nursing. She graduated practical nursing from The Lambton College of Applied Arts and Technology (Sarnia, Ontario) in 2011. Dedicated to the fair, safe and person centered care of all residents and staff, her direct care experience has been gathered in long term care, specialized dementia units, developmental support homes, mental health centres, mobilized behavioral support teams, and home care supervision and service. Tina acquired significant personnel management experience, feeling strongly about effective supervisory practices and the art of leading from wherever you stand. Having been responsible for program management, direct facilitation, teaching, staff support and client advocacy. Focusing on skills related to Cognitive Impairment, Behavioral support, Patient Care and Staff Education.
