I worked as an occasional/after school babysitter for roughly 6 years. During this time I babysat for 3 different families, with different schedules, and children from the ages of newborn- teenagers. I offered volunteer "daycare/babysitting" at a women's shelter monthly for 3 years, where I took care of 5-10 children, aged 0-5 years. Following this I took some time off where I explored different "real" jobs, ranging from studying to be come a nurse, then a doula, to working in a hotel, and many things in between, day shift, night shift, it never felt right, I always felt drawn back to childcare. I have been working with a family for roughly a year now, whose young adult daughter needed supervision due to a neurological illness. It had felt good being back in the realm of nannying, and this family has been amazing, but this job is sadly coming to an end.
