I'm Ellie!

I have been working with babies and kids for over a decade! I am trained in Standard First - Aid with CPR-C (includes child and infant care) and was a certified Life Guard for 10 years. I worked as a summer camp counsellor for 7 years and eventually worked as the head counsellor and leader of the counsellor in training programs. I graduated from the University of Guelph in 2017 with a minor in Family and Child studies, I am a DONA trained postpartum doula and a certifying IAIM infant massage instructor. I have also worked for many years as an outdoor educator and as an ESL teacher! Before covid I was the lead instructor for Strong Start's 'Get Ready For School' program guiding groups of pre-k kiddos in early literacy. I am currently in my last year of school for lactation consulting and I have a passion for education, the outdoors, and providing personalized engaging care to families! My care style is guided by the principles of attentive parenting and gentle parenting but I am open to and respect individual families' parenting preferences. I'm easy-going, compassionate and silly and I deeply value the need for parents to have adequate care so they can be well enough themselves to parent! My partner and I bought a house in town at the end of 2021 so we are new-ish to Stratford! :) I love the outdoors, crafting, cooking, and spending time with friends and family!
