my name is Ocean and I am a 22-year-old passionate and experienced nanny from Alberta, currently residing in Surrey. Growing up in a large family, my first job was as a nanny to my cousins and ever since, I have been enthusiastic about creating a career where I can help individuals and families on a daily basis. I’ve spent the last six years working in roles that allowed me to utilize these skills, including as a Case Manager for a non-profit organization serving children and adults suffering from disabilities, addictions, and homelessness.
Already well versed in the nuances of care, I am comfortable interacting with and caring for children of all ages, ranging from newborns to 9-year-olds. This experience has prepared me to manage up to two children at a time in a variety of settings.
I am currently seeking a full-time or part-time second job that would allow me to flexibly work evenings, nights or during the early mornings from Monday to Thursday (only nights on Sunday). I desire to reconnect with my passion for working with children, while also taking up a variety of duties such as cooking, light housekeeping, grocery shopping, meal preparation, children transportation, laundry, children’s bathing and dressing. I am also comfortable with adhering to special dietary rules, pet care, family laundry, event organizing, and planning.
I come equipped with First Aid and CPR Training, as well as further trainings (available upon request), and I'm open to all types of nanny jobs, including roles as a Nanny/Housekeeper, Mother's Helper, or Special Needs caregiver. I also have the unique advantage of being able to work with children with disabilities.
Ready to start immediately, I'm looking forward to connecting with a family who values a seasoned, compassionate, and dedicated nanny. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
I started nannying back in 2017 and fell in love with the work. I have since then progressed my career to work with adults with disabilities. The most significant nannying experience I have and which lead me into my career now was working with a family of two children, one of which had special needs. I currently work as a Case Manager for a non-profit organization that serves children and adults living with disabilities. I am also in school for my Birth and Postpartum Doula certificate.
My experience in the field is laid out as such:
Documented information in a journal for review daily by the parents. Information included- daily activities, medications, food intake, bathroom schedule, PT and OT activities, exercise log and much more that came up on the daily.
Facilitating the best care possible by developing strong and trusting relationship with the family being served.
Helped with bathing, dressing, teeth brushing and diapering to promote healthy personal hygiene and good oral health.
Maintained a child-friendly environment with engaging activities, safe spaces and access to educational materials and games.
Promoted good behaviors by using positive reinforcement methods.
Prepared snacks and meals, scheduled and coordinated projects and reinforced appropriate discipline for children according to parents' specifications.
Helped children complete homework and special assignments daily to support academic performance.
Cleaned and tidied house, including sweeping and mopping floors, sanitizing and dusting.
Followed routines to foster stability and structure in children's lives while parents were away.
Engaged with children, providing nurturing, safe environments to promote emotional, social and intellectual growth.
Maintained clean and well-organized environment for client happiness and safety.
