Kyla was born and raised in Middle Musquodoboit, Nova Scotia. She is a health and fitness enthusiast and described by others as an energizer bunny. She believes that everyone has the ability to make a difference in the world and in order to see a change we must be the change. She wants to see a change that allows individuals of all ages to have the competence and confidence in themselves to reach their goals and live a healthy and active lifestyle. She is a dynamic leader that has worked within the field of sport and recreation for over 10 years. She is very well educated and has obtained her Masters in Professional Kinesiology from of the University of Toronto. She has an adventurous soul and can typically be found hiking, at the beach, or paddle boarding during the summer. Her mornings can't start without coffee, she loves the shows "The Voice" & "Ellen DeGeneres" and lifting heavy weights is her thing. She currently works full-time with Reebok Canada as a Regional Coordinator for Build Our Kids' Success (BOKS) which is a physical activity program for children.

I have always worked in recreation since the age of 16 from a camp counselor to management level. I have experience with coaching soccer, basketball and physical literacy classes for parent and tots. My mother owns a daycare in my hometown and growing up I would work with her. I have lots of experience working with children of all abilities and used to trained recreation across Ontario how to work with children with disabilities to support their needs (behaviour strategies, adaptations, communication strategies and more).
