My name is Varsha, I am 23 years old and have just returned from being an Au Pair in Paris. I am a fun loving and upbeat person with a soft and approachable demeanour. I encourage children to follow their interests and passions and join them in whatever capacity I can! I am a very independent person and have quick problem solving skills in high intensity and chaotic situations. I am observant and never let the chaos change my approach or derail my calm and collected personality. I have many years of childcare experience in educational and care taking spaces. I thoroughly enjoy working with kids and have a special interest in childhood education and accessibility to education for all children. Since my high school years I have dedicated myself to educational and learning spaces where I have taught everything from figure skating to reading. I am looking for a long term position ideally. I am eventually planning on pursuing a law degree but am taking a few years to save up some money whilst also doing something I love! Outside of my educational interests in legal and intellectual spaces, I love all music, from classical to hip hop, and am quite an advanced piano player. I also love the Wii game Just Dance and always get the kids I nanny for to play it with me! I am quite a can-do person and love picking up random skills. During lockdown I bought a sewing machine and started making my clothes and accessories. I am a huge fan of TFC (toronto football club), (even though they keep making me cry), and went to every game of the 2021/2022 season! I am also a big English literature fan, although Harry Potter will secretly always be my favourite! I love to travel and am a massive history nerd, although I have exhausted my family with museums :) I hope to help your family as best as I can!

Au Pair

As an Au Pair, I was a foreign anne living with a family in Paris in a sort of cultural exchange. I spent time taking care of two children (age 7 and 10) ensuring their safety, the completion of school work and attendance to after school activities as well as teaching them English. my responsibilities also included cooking, cleaning, and ensuring the general tidiness of the house. In turn, they welcomed me into their family, taught me many interesting French traditions and and helped me greatly improve my French language skills. The family I worked with in France were very busy and depended on me to help them organize the kids and ensure that everything was in control, including after school activities, school projects, play dates, and day off activities. Of course I communicated everything with them and ensured they were comfortable with the decisions I made, but they also depended and felt comfortable with me using my best judgement with the kids. I had quite a bit of practice dealing with sibling disputes and general kid outbursts and have navigated them in a calm yet decisive manner.
