Re: Reference letter for Marnie
I had the pleasure to instruct Marnie in a long-term care clinical setting in April 2019. I found her to be excellent in her communication with the residents. She demonstrated excellent knowledge and care while performing tasks such as personal care, client teaching, feeding and giving medications.
I believe she would make a wonderful asset to your team as she grows into her nursing position while completing her Practical Nursing program.
Sincerely,
Frederique

Marnie has been an active, loyal and enthusiastic volunteer at BC Children's Hospital since October, 2016. During that time, Marnie has contributed over 304 hours as a volunteer in various capacities on our large and busy campus. Marnie is a hard-working young woman who capably juggles her academic and work responsibilities with her volunteer schedule. Her bright, sunny personality makes her a favorite with our staff, her colleagues and our guests alike.
In Mamie's first assignment, she was a Navigator for BC Children's and BC Women's Hospitals. Volunteers assigned to the Navigation Desks must have exceptional communication skills, be able to think quickly on their feet, and are exposed to a variety of diverse situations and experiences. Marnie exemplified all these characteristics and more. She is always responsible, reliable and she demonstrated a willingness to participate in new assignments including those at Sunny Hill Healthcare Centre for Children. While there, Mamie volunteered regularly and directly with young children at its daycare and also utilized her navigation skills as a greeter and guide welcoming patients and families to the site and showing them around.
In the months leading up to the opening of our new hospital, the Teck Acute Care Centre, Marnie committed additional hours working with office staff to facilitate related events. Marnie worked tirelessly providing invaluable clerical and organizational support. Mamie willingly accepted a variety of tasks, worked independently and completed each task well. Throughout all her volunteer assignments, Mamie consistently demonstrated exceptional communication skills, reliability and her positive and happy personality always brightens our day.
We appreciate Marnie's ongoing commitment and contributions to BC Children's, BC Women's and Sunny Hill Hospitals and we wish her much success in any future endeavors she chooses.
Please contact me should you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Cynthia
