I am reaching out in hopes of finding a lively, outgoing individual to join me as a part-time, live-in caregiver who is energetic and talkative at my SFU residence. I use a wheelchair with SMA Type 2 - a condition causing significant muscle weakness. Although I possess complete sensation, I need support with transfers, dressing, bathing, and toilet needs, in addition to tube feeding.
I'm sociable along with having a keen interest in politics, video gaming, and lively discussions on a broad range of topics.
As the live-in caregiver over weekends, you will help by ensuring his regular transfers, assisting with grooming and dressing, and managing the tube feeding. You will also be responsible for some light housekeeping tasks, mostly laundry and ensuring my comfortability and positioning. The ability to deal effectively with Quad/Paraplegic Care is essential, along with proficiency in using a Hoyer Lift.
While I realize the commitment this entails, I can currently offer a monthly stipend of approximately $1200, with the potential for negotiation as additional funding becomes available, which I am fervently working towards.
If you are a young at heart, extroverted person who is passionate about offering support to someone like me, please consider this opportunity. Looking forward to exploring the possibilities of this position with you. Together, we can make my university experience a memorable journey.
