Thank you. ********************* We are looking for a Live-In Caregiver/companion & Housekeeper to help us take care of our 77-year-old father who has Moderate Stage Dementia. We are looking for someone who can be a companion for him and also someone who likes cooking/housekeeping to help make dinner for the family. Start Date is April 1, 2024 for LIVE IN CAREGIVER-ONLY Our father lives with us in the basement apartment of our home. Responsibilities Include: -Caring for a male senior with dementia. -Cooking dinner for the family and cleaning up -Going for walks in the neighbourhood and/or taking him on the bus to Square One or other local venues -Doing other crafts/games/activities with him. -Getting him meals & cleaning up. -Ironing/folding & putting away laundry as needed. -Making daily vegetable juices, cleaning up -Giving vitamins/supplements per schedule -Vacuum/tidy basement apartment only regularly i.e. do dishes, clean stove, bathroom, mop floor. -Assistance with other tasks as needed for the family including cleaning the family home once a month. We are looking for someone who is mature, patient, calm and can be understanding with someone living with mild dementia. A driver's license/car would be a bonus although not required for the position. Someone who is a self-starter, can work independently and is trustworthy and positive. Since meal preparation is a big part of this job, you must be someone who likes cooking and has a genuine interest in food preparation. Prior experience working with a senior with dementia would be an asset.
