We are seeking a live-in caregiver for an 81-year-old woman with dementia, who resides near Grouse Mountain in North Vancouver. The role will require approximately 30-40 hours of work per week. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: assisting with regular exercise, medication management, companionship, and personal care tasks such as bathing and dressing. The individual may also require assistance with toileting at times. Light meal preparation is also part of the role. The woman owns a quiet and calm cat that requires help with feeding and litter box maintenance. The caregiver will have access to a large master bedroom with an ensuite bathroom, equipped with both a bathtub and a separate shower, as well as a walk-in closet. The rest of the living space will be shared. Requirements for this role include fluency in English and a personal support worker certificate. Applicants are asked to submit a cover letter, references verifying relevant experience, and the highest level of education achieved. ---Requirements: Ideal candidates will have proven experience as a caregiver for the elderly, preferably within an assisted living environment. Knowledge of dementia care and patience when dealing with individuals with cognitive impairments is required. We are seeking someone compassionate and empathetic, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong organizational and time management abilities, and the ability to adapt to the changing needs of elderly individuals. Basic first aid and CPR certification is a plus. Candidates should also provide references from their previous caregiving roles. Working Hours: This is a full-time, live-in position.
