I am in need of a part-time caregiver for a senior male member of my family battling Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP). He struggles with mobility, balance, and speech and needs support both physically and emotionally. The ideal candidate should be experienced in working with seniors, particularly those with Parkinson's, Dementia and Speech Impairment.
The job responsibilities will include bathing assistance, dressing and grooming assistance, housekeeping, laundry, grocery shopping, meal planning and preparation, running errands, assisting with pet care, as well as escorting him to appointments. He enjoys visits, outings, and trips to visit friends, family and neighbors, so planning those are also part of the caregiver duties. Experience in Alzheimer/Dementia care, supervision of home, Parkinson care, performing lifts and transfers, as well as administering injections will be considered advantageous.
In addition to providing personal and healthcare, the hired individual should also perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, vacuuming, laundry, and some cooking.
The working schedule is flexible, with around 20 to 30 hours of work per week, from morning to evening across Monday to Saturday. There are no strict requirements for a driver’s license, as the family can provide a car for use on the job when required. The position is for a live-out arrangement.
The preferred start date is immediate. I'll provide not only the equipment and resources you need to do the job but also a supportive environment where you can do your best work. I look forward to welcoming someone compassionate, professional and dedicated into our home environment. If you are patient, caring, and looking for a part-time caregiver role, please do get in touch.
