We are looking for a full-time Caregiver for our 88 year-old Mother with Lewy Body Dementia who is bedridden and palliative care. Someone who is kind, patient, intuitive and has some understanding of caring for a palliative patient. Clear english is very important as my father is hard of hearing. Our mother is originally from Glasgow, Scotland and my father from just outside of London, England. We are looking for coverage for 12 hour days 8:30 am - 8:30 pm but this could be broken up from 8:30 am - 12:30 pm back again at 4:30 pm - 8:30pm. We have a nice basement suite to rest or you may leave and come back. We are willing to hire someone to live out or you could live in with room and board and payment for the hours you work. My Mother needs total care and sleeps most of the time. She requires; diaper change, bathing, feeding, dressing (only taking fluids now) and simple meals for my dad. He needs no other care. He is very pleasant capable able bodied and mind. He does all for himself. Start date is February 19th. Thank you, Maureen (We are located in Kerrisdale with good bus access.).
