I am married, I am 59 years old, and I have 3 older children. My youngest is a boy, and he was born with special needs, (he had a trach and a g-tube, for his first 11 years ) and has some difficulty speaking. Since he was born I spent my time caring for him. He has since had his trach and g tube removed, so is not considered physically special needs, but has now been diagnosed as mentally challenged. I have had other jobs privately caring for people with physical and mental disabilities. (Stroke, MS, Parkinsons, alzheimers, and mental disabilities. I was employed with Resource Ability out of Kelowna as a home support worker, and northern Health out of Fort st John as a housekeeper at a senior assisted facility. I have relocated to Nanaimo recently and looking for full time work. I have since worked mainly as a housekeeper with different organizations but I have recently been laid off. My latest job has been caring for a 63 yr old stroke patient, for approx 1 year. He has moved to assisted living. I am easy to talk to, very friendly, reliable, and sociable, patient, and caring, and i love animals! I have my first aid, and a driver's license And I am pretty flexible, and willing to learn anything that might make me more valuable to my employer.
