I returned to school at 50 and acquired my Personal Support Worker diploma. Due to health issues with my own parents, I realized what a passion I had for helping seniors. I have had extensive training at Oakcrossing Long Term Care, Parkwood Hospital. and have been working in the field for almost 2 years now. I am married, my children are grown so my time is flexible. I am looking for part-time hours. I was in a car accident a year ago that has made it difficult for me to do the PSW jobs that require very heavy lifting but have no other limitations. I am very experienced in seniors with dementia as a large amount of my training was in the dementia ward, I have had clients with dementia, and my mother is suffering with it as well. I love pets so they are no problem.
I realize the importance of finding quality care for your parents and strive to give the best.
I have been working for the past 2 years for a home care service here in London. I have training in a long term care home as well as at Parkwood Hospital. I have also done casual hours at a retirement home.
