I am a mother of 2 beautiful grown children that now live on their own, I was working as an administrator for 18yrs and felt I needed a change for a more fulfilling career. I have realized through past experiences and current events that I am innately drawn to encouraging others, and also feel the most personal satisfaction when I can be of service to others. I strongly believe that there is a need for PSW's who embody a compassionate, patient and genuine nature; those who truly believe that every individual is capable and competent in their own way. Through my previous experience as a PSW working with patients with various disabilities, it sparked a passion for providing a safe and understanding environment for these patients. I have found that it is imperative to be able to foresee any potential risks or triggers of negative behavior, and to try to assess what they are feeling in order to provide the most safe and productive environment for them. I am confident in my abilities to provide physical assistance ( 2 person lifts, manual lifts, etc. ) as well as my knowledge of personal hygiene and risk awareness. I have an up to date back ground check. First aid/CPR, Clear TB Test. I graduated from my PSW course in 2012 with marks in the high 90's, as well as received certificate for Palliative Care.
