I recently moved to Toronto three years ago from Italy, Piedmont region. I am 60 years old, my two daughters live here and I have three grand kids. While in Italy I dedicated my time in looking after an elderly lady with Alzheimer, providing her companionship and helping with various daily chores. When I moved to Toronto I wanted to start being useful again. I started a seasonal pasta business with my daughter and babysat. After a couple of months I was asked to be of help to a lady with diabetes, I helped with reorganizing her house, assisted with meal preparation, ran small errands and made sure she felt comfortable and well. I speak Italian and English, I enjoy cooking and spending time with my grandchildren. I am very detail oriented when it comes to house cleaning. I am patient, understanding, friendly but also professional when it comes to following instructions. I am looking for a position that will allow me to provide elderly care in a house.

While in Italy I have looked after an elderly lady with Alzheimer, helping with everyday activities such as preparing meals, running errands, making beds, buying groceries, bathing, administering treatments, and handling the laundry. An important part of my role was ensuring companionship as well as demonstrating patience and a supportive attitude. When I relocated to Toronto I was contacted by a lady in my building to look after her daughter who suffered from diabetes and a mild form of depression. I provided daily care, positive support and most important I was there to listen and understand her daily challenges. I helped with daily chores and meal preparations as well as helping her in reorganizing her closets and kitchen. I am very hard working and know what it means to provide good care and to be understanding, I know the importance of being a positive support for the elderly and how much a smile is important in a day.
