Good Day, My name is Sandy and I am a Social Service Worker. Initially I worked with special needs clients, those with intellectual and developmental challenges. I have since been providing support for seniors since 2002. For the first five years I worked with Links2Care, providing services for seniors. Since then I have been providing private home support for seniors, with the primary goal of helping them to remain in their own home for as long as possible - to this end I have been greatly successful. I have been given the nick name of Sunshine, and have the gift of making someone's day just a little brighter- if even for a moment. I have been told many times that I am always smiling. I have an infectious energy and I know that my presence has a positive effect on the lives that I touch. My interests include exercise at the gym, long walks, non-fiction reading, I love music and travel. I also enjoy healthy cooking and baking ( minus the sugar. ).

I have been providing home support for seniors since 2002. My experience is as follows: Assisting with personal care including bathing, dressing, oral care, personal grooming and toileting Providing guidance and support with daily living activities including morning routine, medication administration, housekeeping, meal preparation, shopping and laundry Offering opportunities for mental stimulation by utilizing crossword puzzles and word search activities, match card games, playing cards, puzzles and recalling recipes. Assisting with mobility aids such as walkers, canes, crutches and wheelchair Attending clients to and from doctor’s appointments, hospital visits, specialist appointments I have worked with client and family to maintain or improve the quality of life while most importantly encouraging independence and preserving dignity and self-worth.
