I am a retired Special Education teacher who enjoyed a wonderful 30 year career in three provinces (Quebec, Alberta and Ontario). I am an only daughter so was privileged to care for my mother for the last 10 years of her life, so have a soft spot in my heart for elder care. Volunteer work is an important part of my life, past work has been with the Prison System in Montreal, Victim Services in Edmonton, Habitat for Humanity and Centrepointe Theatre in Ottawa. My friends would describe me as patient, creative, and kind. I have the time and want to be of support to individuals who need some extra help to maintain their quality of life.

I cared for my own mother for over 5 years providing her with the best quality of life based on her circumstances ( limited mobility ). I have a strong background in Education, problem solving skills, patience, flexibility, excellent communication skills and reliability. I feel these qualities would serve me well in supporting a senior in their home. Additional Experiences/Qualifications: My 36 years of teaching and my experience caring for my own mother has provided me with the necessary skills, qualities and desire to support seniors in their own home. I have witnessed the need for this support to enable individuals to stay in their homes as long as it is safely possible.
