Born in Nepal, I come from a hard working family of farmers. My parents are retired, two of my 5 brothers are still in farming, while 3 of them are running their own businesses. My husband is a teacher, I also taught children in a nursery school in Nepal, after completing my secondary school education. To help out the family, I took caregiver courses. I have a daughter who just recently graduated from nursing school. I like to go on long walks during my spare time and also enjoy sewing.
I worked in Israel, as a living in caregiver for 9 years. For 2 years, I looked after a 90 years old senior lady with diabetes, hypertension and Alzheimer's disease until she was institutionalized. In my next job, I was a living in caregiver for an elderly hemiplegic woman, wheel chair bound, and with speech problems, and dementia for 7 years until she passed away. I looked after children of a a young family in Israel before I came to Canada.
In Victoria BC, I was care giver for a retired physician's wife who suffered from complex neurological problems including Parkinsonism and incontinence. In addition to providing personal care, I did necessary cooking and light house keeping duties. I am adept at using transfer equipment such as hoyer lift, overhead lift (OHL) etc. as well as communication gadgets such as intercom, mobile phones and search engines in such devices.
