Tansi' My name is Claudia and I am Cree First Nations on my mother's side and Scottish/Ukrainian on my father's side. I am from Winnipeg, Manitoba, and my First Nation reservation is in Northern Manitoba. I, currently live in Steveston, BC and is in Richmond, BC and enjoy living right beside a beautiful park called Garry Point Park. I enjoy walks at this beautiful park that is right beside the ocean and beach. I enjoy walking with my wonderful husband Vince with my hyper and happy dog, Maskwa. At the end of August 2021, I successfully completed my Health Care Assistant program at Vancouver Community College (VCC) with training in Dementia Care. I come from a Social Service field background in Addictions, Mental Health, and Youth Care, and understood that patience, kindness, gentleness, encouragement, and being open and nonjudgemental to people's unique ways in how they wish to live their lives. While learning how to "meet them where they are at" and supported clients in what they needed. I usually worked in group homes or residential apartments for low-income and low-barrier residents with addictions and mental health issues. I was able to use my skills when training in the Senior Long Term Care homes sector, which allowed me to connect to many seniors, even the most advanced stages of dementia. It has been an amazing experience in my HCA training and to see the joy in the seniors I assisted and served.

I have cleaned for small cleaning companies cleaning up to 4-5 homes a day. I have worked as a housekeeping attendant in fishing resort camps cleaning up to 22 rooms a day. I have worked as a housekeeping attendant in an oil rig camp cleaning up to 40 rooms a day.
