My name is Chennell , I am a (3) third-year student at Brock University. I am studying Child and Youth studies with this program. I have gained knowledge, skills and experience with working with children. My program covers behavior, and child development and helps me develop strong communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, which are essential for effectively interacting with children, their parents, and other caregivers. I live with my roommate who also attends the same university as I do. My hobbies and interests are that I volunteer as I love to work with others and be involved in the community. I have numerous volunteering hours at retirement homes, churches, pre-schools and nursery schools. Volunteering at Bethsaida Retirement Home in the summer was important as volunteering in a senior living community can help you get useful experience for any career. My responsibility in this home was to read to seniors, help with cleaning their rooms and also assist workers with feeding. While volunteering at churches I helped to feed the less fortunate, helped with preparing meals, sang to them and also read to them. Lastly, with volunteering at nursery and pre-schools I helped them with their day-to-day activities by reading to them, singing to them, playing with them and helping with homework. I travel back to Jamaica from time to time to visit my family as I am huge on family. Being around them makes me feel like I am at home. I am very fluent in both written and spoken English. I am interested in story writing or writing academic essays as I love to read and write. I like to sing, write poems and paint as that's my way of showing my creativity. The many attributes I possess are communication skills. I can convey information clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing. Also active listening skills as I like to listen and understand what is being asked. I have leadership skills as I like to work and motivate others in both volunteer or academic settings. I am very flexible. I am willing to work for long hours and also to do overtime when necessary. I am a very organized person and I like to meet deadlines. I am very creative. I like to sing, write and generate new ideas.
I am currently going to Brock University Studying CHILD AND YOUTH STUDIES I am in 3 year.
I want to work here because These jobs often offer flexible schedules, which can be appealing for individuals who need to balance work with other commitments such as school or family responsibilities, Babysitting and housekeeping jobs provide an opportunity to develop close relationships with families and make a positive impact on their lives.
Skill development: These roles require a range of skills including communication, organization, and problem-solving, which can be valuable for personal and professional development. I feel a sense of fulfillment caring for children or maintaining a household .
