My name is Fatoumata and I am 24 years old! I was born and raised in Senegal and am a recent immigrant to Canada. I speak French fluently and am taking classes and learning English. Although I have a basic level of spoken English, I can understand the language and can take directions. I am currently providing child care to a non-French speaking Canadian family and we are able to communicate well. I love children and have many years of experience with family child-care. I am the second eldest in my family and have helped to raise my 3 younger siblings as well supported the child care of my niece and nephew since birth. I have experience with over-night stays, preparing meals, and bath-time tasks. I am attentive with them and have lots of energy to play. I love to cook and am a believer in providing nutritious food for kids to enjoy. I respect children and value what they have to say. I am a great listener and am flexible with scheduling. I have experience taking care of my siblings and nieces and nephews as the second eldest in the family. Currently I am also responsible for supporting the care of my siblings since moving to Canada, as one of their guardians. I have volunteered to take care of children for over 13 years. I am capable of performing all child-care tasks as well as some housekeeping, including meal preparation. I have 6 months of Canadian work experience taking care of a two year old in Victoria. Additional Experiences/Qualifications: Am in the process of obtaining my First Aid certification, Food Safe and Driver's License.

I have completed my secondary education in Senegal and am currently taking English classes at the Inter-cultural Association. I will be applying for a Care-giving program once my English is at a higher level.
