Note: Seeking housecleaning job only at the moment I just finished an undergraduate degree in Human Relations (Specialization), and recently finished a one year internship in Youth Work. I am also involved in the community volunteering and training. I am passionate about working with families and have experience with children and youth from newborn to adulthood. I work as a program coordinator at a non-profit, but am seeking one other job, as I am no longer a student. I am non-judgemental, very reliable, and hardworking :). References available, and recent police check updated.

I have worked with countless families, the longest-term being 7 years. In addition to childcare I clean, paint, garden and am open to doing other random household tasks. My interests are varied, but I always find myself working with families and children- it seems to be my natural skill. I am non-judgmental, calm and have an infinite patience for kids. Many families I have worked with have commented on the value of my flexibility and understanding as they go through various stages and transitions with their kids and families. I have spent a lot of time in others homes and understand many of the challenges/dynamics of family life. My goal is to ease some of the stress and pressures, and have parents come home to a calm, happy environment while also respecting the existing parental style/system. I have worked with children and youth ( from newborn to adulthood )my whole life as my parents owned a childcare centre. I remember being too young to legally babysit alone and offering free services to parents I knew just to spend time with kids and help their parents out/ get away from home. Through my experience I have had the benefit of being able to work with a variety of children- developing many valuable skills. I have experience with sleep routines, transition, attachment, nutrition/special diet/allergies, exercise, anxiety, comforting, education, toilet training, behaviour struggles, separation issues, divorce in families, working with kids from diverse backgrounds, health ( inc. asthma), safety, boundaries/structure/consistency, other special needs, understanding of emotional & physical developmental needs, experience with infant twins etc. I love to work with children's unique personalities to develop a relationship and structure that works for them. I try to engage kids avoiding TV and computer games as much as possible. I also try to not text or have my cellphone on me at work unless it is work related. It is important to me to be fully present in what I do. I have traveled with and lived with families including a 5 week trip to New Zealand. When there, I was responsible for daily care of the household and children while their mom worked (not to mention helping with travel stresses. ). I later lived in with the family to support them through a transition. During this time they went travelling for 7 days and I cared for their 2 children, pets and household. I have almost always worked for myself and usually work one on one (or one on 2), but have also spent 3 summers as a staff at a small preschool. Part of working at a preschool means that I have my first aid (renewed this spring), clear criminal record, have had to get checked to ensure physical and mental health, and have also taken part in training and meetings to enrich my understanding of children with unique needs. I am usually asked to deal with children with behaviour problems because I am patient but also structured and work hard to find out how to solve issues/ figure out child's' needs. My recent youth work internship was in a setting with young parents and their children, so I spent many hours caring for newborn babies, and their mothers. I speak ENGISH only, but have worked with French families to teach their children English. Additional Experiences/Qualifications: Mental Health Literacy Training (2017) Child Educator Assistant Certificate (Jan 2013) CPR (2013)

Psychology, Child Development, Lifespan Development, Interpersonal Relations, Youthwork courses (and more) Currently in final of a Human Relations degree (specialization)
