My name is Tuula. I am 25 years old and live in Victoria BC. I have had many opportunities to interact with children. As a child, my parents had nearly two dozen foster children. I was able to learn about nurturing and compassion from my mother. Having these children in my home gave me an appreciation for different home situations and how someone on the outside of the household can be a great influence. During my teenage years, I was involved in many youth programs that showed me leadership skills. I also had many opportunities to babysit for friends and also people I did not know whom I was recommended to. Most recently, I worked at a daycare that provided me the opportunity to develop my skills in childcare. I had the chance to plan and lead activities, work to improve behavioral issues, and develop my skills in observation and motivation. I look forward to working in the community and furthering my career in the childcare field.

I have been taking care of children since I was young and helped my mother with foster children. I have worked at several daycares and have been a full time nanny for families over the last five years. I am almost finished my diploma in early childhood education where I was able to do practicums with daycares and preschools.
