My name is Tenai . I am a 19 year old female from the small town of Nelson, British Columbia. I am looking for a nanny/babysitting job on evenings and weekends, outside of my monday-friday career. I come from a family of four children, me being the oldest. This has, along with my numerous previous nannying jobs, provided me with the skills and experience needed to pursue a position as a nanny/ babysitter in your household. I have a sister (15), a brother (4), and a baby sister (1.5). My mother and father are separated and both have been remarried. My parents are the most loving and supportive people I know. As far as experience goes, all my life I have been surrounded by children. I have looked after children in both formal and informal contexts, from a very young age. I have worked as a nanny to two girls (ages now 8 and 13) for nearly 8 years. The relationship I have developed with these children over the years is absolutely incredible. I am a part of the family, and my love for them is immeasurable. I am also, as mentioned above, the oldest of 4 children. My entire life, it has been my pleasure to help look after my siblings, and contribute to their development as individuals. My first language is English, and it is, unfortunately, the only language I am fluent in. I am always willing to take classes and educate myself of other languages, if necessary. As for leisure, I find pleasure in the small things in life. I I enjoy playing instruments such as violin, guitar, piano, and of course singing. I also have a large passion for arts including: painting, drawing, sewing, photography, scrapbooking, knitting, etc. I enjoy hiking and riding my bike, along with sports such as dancing, swimming, and skiing. I am the oldest of 4 children. I have 3 siblings, much younger than I, that I helped raise. Aside from my family, I worked as a Nanny for two girls for nearly 8 years and had various other babysitting jobs throughout my teens. I take my position as a nanny very seriously. I think child development is extremely important. It is vital for children to have a great and meaningful bond with their caretaker. As a Nanny, I treat the children I care for as my own. I ensure that they stay active when in my care. I try to avoid most television and computer use. I think it is important, at a young age, to stay active and creative, as it encourages brain development. I enjoy taking children on outings to the park, the library, the beach, on walks, etc. I also love to do arts and crafts with the children I care for. I enjoy teaching them to draw, sew, paint, play the violin or guitar, garden, cook, and many other great things in life.

I graduated highschool, and went straight to Blanche Macdonald to study Fashion.
