My name is Daina and I am 29 years old. I have been working with children in a number of capacities all of my adult life. I am energetic and motivated, I love to watch babies and children grow and develop through play. Through years of working in an experiential learning environment I am always happy to play and learn through new experiences.

I have worked as a nanny in the past. My first position was with a 4 child family ranging in age from 9 -14. This position included providing emotional support, dinner, housework, driving and homework help. After this I worked with a family with one infant, and a 4 year old this position included play dates, and developmentally appropriate play. More recently I worked with Boys and Girls Clubs of Calgary providing after school programs for children aged 3 - 12. In this position I focused a lot on relationship building, self confidence, and self esteem through age appropriate experiential programming.

My two year diploma is not directly related as it is in Corrections, however as part of this program I learned about human growth and development. I also hold a Child Care Assistant Certificate and am certified to run programs such as Roots of Empathy which is a specific curriculum geared towards teaching school children about empathy through the relationships between a mother and infant that visit the class.
