Hi there. My name is Marissa . I am a 5th year student at Carleton University studying Sociology. I am a recent graduate of Early Childhood Education at Algonquin College, and I have been working closely with children of all ages through schools and daycare's for the past 4 years. I am very close to my family. I have 1 little sister who is 18 and my mother and father are still very much an influence in my life. My father, being my soccer coach for the last 10 years, has taught me much about patience, respect and having the motivation to continue through rough times. I am optimistic, outgoing and energetic. I love to laugh, and I love making others laugh. I am an open book, and I pride myself on being a strong support system to the ones I love and cherish most in life.

I graduated Early Childhood Education in 2012 where we got the opportunity to work in three different daycare's of all ages. I have had experience with toddlers, preschoolers, school-ager's, and a little experience with infants. I worked as a kindergarten and school-age summer ECE teacher for the last two summers at an elementary school, where I was able to play a leading role in the classroom. I now work at a drop off daycare in a gym where we get children from ages 3wks to 12 years of age. This job can be extremely busy, but it helps to keep me on my toes, as well as pushes me to practice my knowledge of child development and appropriate activities for different age groups.

I graduated high school in 2009, where I continued on to Algonquin college and completed Early Childhood Education. I then continued to Carleton University where I took Child Studies, and later switched into Sociology. I will be finishing my Sociology degree this coming December 2014.
