Hello. I am Bonnie . It is my pleasure to offer you a number of care related services listed below. How may I help you? I am a married lady, with a strong sense of responsibility and reliability which is influenced by work/life experience and upbringing. I am eager to grow my reputation in Victoria as a reliable, responsible and trustworthy care professional. I am known for my friendliness, compassion and fun loving spirit. You'll find that thoroughness, loyalty, helpfulness, and peacemaking are also reflected in my personality. My fees are somewhat negotiable & so is the distance I will travel. Please, I encourage you to give me a call. CHILD CARE I am a caregiver looking to build a relationship with a family. I hope to know Mom's personality as I desire to do my best to reflect Moms best qualities. I actively volunteer with children at my church's Youth Shelter and Nursery. I have volunteered at the child care drop-in centre at Victoria Immigration & Refugee Center Society. I have personally babysat for parents of the children. I have also babysat for my pastor at an Anglican Church. Both staff from VIRCS and my pastor have offered me references. I have a current, clean, criminal record check. I recently took First Aid for children & infants and I now have a car. In my 30's, I taught ESL to toddler classes, preschool, kindergarten, primary & middle grades. I also worked one to one with students who had hearing, learning, developmental disabilities and behaviour challenges. I lovingly give verbal redirection to grow good behaviour. :) During 2012-2013, I taught high energy educational activities to children ages 2 to 6 in Asia. There, teachers are seen as parents & my role focused on relationship building & cross-cultural understanding. COMPANION CARE It is my desire to be a caring companion to someone special. I enjoy listening and being a source of empowerment. Reading out loud, singing, interviewing/recording and recording/editing family memoirs are my pleasure. I purchased a 4 door car. I provide transport and assistance within the city for shopping or evening events. I am also pleased to take you to the countryside, for farm tours, or to gardens. I have Occupational First Aid, Food Safe, World Host certifications. I can a variety of references including a current, clean, criminal record check. In my 20's I cared for a developmentally delayed woman with limited mobility. We spent time doing light exercise, walking and chatting. I cared for an elderly man who had dementia and required my physical assistance into and out of his wheelchair. We spent time in music, singing and clapping. I arranged transport by bus and we accessed the community together. I provided home care and house keeping, may I do the same for you HOUSE KEEPING Naturally, you need a house keeper who you can trust to clean alone in your home. I can a variety of references including a current, clean, criminal record check. I own a top quality vacuum cleaner and can provide chemical free floor washing, dusting, etc. I also have Occupational First Aid certification. In my 20's I maintained the cleanliness of homes associated with social service organizations. Vacuuming, dusting, wall washing, laundry and dish washing were my duties. While living in Japan, I had an exchange for services agreement with my Japanese landlord. I rented her home and was responsible for the interior, exterior maintenance, garden landscaping and pruning. As a result of my reliability I was found to be of good character. This resulting in her giving me "guarantor status" to determine the suitability of other foreigners to rent her other units. The sense of commitment to reliability and trustworthiness was instilled in my childhood. As the oldest child, growing up in a large farm house, it was my responsibility to maintain all manner of cleanliness to keep the home presentable. "Immaculate" is the expectation passed on from my Grandmother. I assisted my family with laundry, ironing, yard care, exterior painting, and garden care. Kindly contact me for a chat. Why I live in Victoria: After living in Japan, my husband and I moved to Victoria for the similar climate, the outdoor exercise, and strong sense of community. (He is a Victoria YMCA volunteer, manager, MBA graduate, adult educator, online moderator and publishes a podcast about inspiration and motivation.) My hobbies are volunteering with children and volunteering my organic gardening and growing food knowledge and skills, landscape installation, permaculture blitzes, bicycling, fitness, networking at meet-ups and the Young Entrepreneur Society. I am eagerly awaiting your call, I look forward to knowing more how I can help you.

Additional Experiences/Qualifications: My salary preference varies from $12 to $16 an hour for childcare. This depends on if it is a night awake, night sleep, or day shift, the duties and number of children. Please note, the number of children I am willing to care for depends on their ages. If you have a special needs child please discuss with me what specifically they need help with.

Even though I have taught ages 2 and up for many years, I was teaching abroad at the time. Since, I have returned to Canada I thought Moms and other employers would appreciate if I take education that is equivalent of the Responsible Adult certification. I am also considering taking the ECE Assistant course.
