I am an energetic and positive young woman, with a very enthusiastic passion for working with children and families. I am currently studying at Camosun College in Victoria, BC on Vancouver Island, where I am enrolled in the Diploma for Early Learning & Care program. I am currently finishing my first year and will begin my final study year in September 2014. Within this program I have studied childrens emotional and physical development, child environments, psychology, learning through play as well as nutrition and health. As well, I have worked in several childcare centers through volunteer and practicum placements. These included full day daycare’s, community run centers and preschools. I also hold both a valid criminal record check and a emergency child care first aid certificate, including both adult and child CPR. I also able and available to cook and clean as needed I am very passionate about supporting childrens education and building on their interests. My goal is to work cooperatively with families to support the child’s growth and development. I am very open minded to different family dynamics as well.

Over the past year and a half, I have volunteered and completed professional placements at several childcare centers in the greater Victoria area. These centers include full day day-cares, community run centers, and preschools. At each center I have: -Been placed in charge of afternoon activities for children aged 2 to 5 -Worked in food preparation areas, taking care to ensure allergy safety -Maintained child safety and attendance during pick-up/drop off times
