Hello, Parents. My name is Carmen. I am a student at the University of Victoria starting my first year of prerequisites towards being accepted into the Education Program for the elementary school curriculum. I am a mature, smart and reliable 23-year-old who comes from a very close and loving family of 4 consisting of my Mother, Father and elder Sister. Though my experience is minimal I have had the pleasure of babysitting for close family friends in the past, in addition to school events where I volunteered to help participate and plan special events for elementary school students through out the year. My older sister has been a nanny several times and I have had the opportunity to hear stories and advice about her experiences and have taken notes about how I could be a successful nanny. I have a fun, creative, outgoing personality and would provide an array of activities that I can do with kids. I am very comfortable in the kitchen as baking is one of my many passionate hobbies. I would enjoy preparing healthy meals and snacks as well as a few fun treats when its appropriate. I have also enjoyed playing the piano since I was 4 years old and have successfully completed my grade 6 exams in the Royal Conservatory of Music. I'd be excited to share a very basic knowledge of music of it was at all an interest. My previous work experience has mainly been in the food industry - both in the kitchen and serving. This has given me a lot of experience in high stress, fast-paced situations. From that, I have learned how to create organized and efficient systems that benefit everyone, as well as maintaining my cool, collected and bubbly personality when things begin to escalate. I have also had the opportunity to experience one on one social work with a young man with autism. I assisted him with daily living, social skills, behavior management, non-verbal communication strategies as well as leisure and employability skills. Through this job I learned how to create a calm environment for my client during stressful situations that could bring on unexpected behaviours, and learned how to work with a structured schedule. Aside from my love for kids, I'd be looking forward to a fun, fast-paced job that is going to challenge me in different ways every day. If I sound like a good fit for your family feel free to give me a call with any further questions, or to get a copy of my resume. Thank you for taking your time to consider me and I am looking forward to hearing from you.

I have experience babysitting family friends at different times from ages 4-10, however I have never had any full-time experience.
