Dear Family, My name is Lizzy and I am looking for full-time or part-time work as a nanny from now until September 2016. I just completed my first year of Practical Nursing at Centennial College and I had my first clinical placement at rehabilitation centre for spinal cord injuries. I have vast experience caring for children as both a full-time nanny and babysitter and I would love to continue this over my summer break. Before attending the Practical Nursing program, I worked for a year as a full-time nanny in the Parkdale and Roncesvalles area, caring for a 3 year old boy. My responsibilities included organizing daily, fun, safe and educational activities and outings (Sourauren Park, High Park, Dufferin Grove Park, Riverdale Farm, swimming pools, playdates, drop-in centres etc), planning and preparing healthy meals and snacks, picking up the child from pre-school on-time while maintaining open communication with teachers and cleaning up after the child. I built a trusting and loyal relationship with the parents, while creating a secure and loving bond and safe environment for the child. Through play dates and referrals by the child's parents, I received part-time babysitting from other families in the neighborhood. I still work part-time for all families and maintain a close and on-going relationship. I have been babysitting since I was 14 years old and I continued babysitting part-time throughout high school. After graduation I expanded to working in daycare facilities. I also worked as a nanny over a summer vacation for a Toronto family in the St. Clair West area. As a whole, I have cared for children from the age of 6 months to 12 years old. I love to be active with the children I am caring for. I enjoy and am confident visiting parks, splash pads, pools, libraries, beaches, neighborhood events and attractions. In the home, I love to read stories, sing songs, play imagination games, help with homework and make crafts. About Me: I live in the Christie Pits area of Toronto, with my boyfriend and our two adopted senior cats. I love exploring the city, trying new restaurants and volunteering within the community I volunteer for the Annex cat rescue by fostering cats who require socialization or medical care prior to finding their forever home. I also volunteer for Hospice Toronto, and I provide emotional, social and practical support for palliative care clients and their families within the home. I love singing and am also passionate for health and fitness. You can commonly find me at the gym, cooking new healthy recipes and running outdoors. I have been lucky enough to spend a lot of time travelling. When I was in high school, I volunteered in a small rural-town in Costa Rica, after graduation I backpacked by myself through Ireland, Spain and France, and I completed my Community Worker Diploma field placement in Cuba. Last summer I travelled to the west coast to British Colombia, Washington, Oregon and California. I am a nurturing, patient and energetic person with an extensive amount of childcare experience and I am dedicated to providing children in my care with a safe, trusting, fun and educational environment.
