Hi. My name is Martine and I am a stay at home mom of an almost 4 year old boy. He attends part-time pre-school, and otherwise spends the rest of the day with me. I am currently searching for part-time babysitting work for the summer. Preference is for families in our neighborhood of Yorkson, Walnut Grove or Fort Langley areas as I don't have my own vehicle. We are located close to the C62 bus, so Fort Langley is not too far off. Ideally your child would be close enough in age to participate in playing with my son :) Evenings, my husband is home and can stay with our son while I care for your kids. I was born in Montreal and am comfortable speaking French. I eventually relocated to Toronto and attended Ryerson University where I graduated with a Bachelor Of Fine Arts. I enjoy cooking, reading, photography, running, traveling and gardening. In 2013 my family returned from working abroad in Japan. We lived there for 4 years and I taught English at an Academic High School. During that time I also volunteered with community groups and schools, read books to toddlers at the library, camp counseled elementary and middle school kids and coached youth for English speech competitions. In following with my experiences in Japan, I hope to one day pursue a degree in education. We have found ourselves in Langley while my husband completes his Master's degree at Trinity Western University.

Aside from my work experience teaching in Japan, I have a good deal of stay-at-home-mom life experience. My son and I enjoy lots of outdoor activities and we frequent many excellent spots throughout the city, including playgrounds, splash pads, the library and our community garden plot. We regularly attend Strong Start and Tot Romp and frequently explore our surrounding neighbourhoods on foot with our trusty running stroller. I value learning from other moms and early childhood educators and have regularly attended early childhood drop in programs/courses in other cities such as the excellent Early Childhood Family Education program in Minnesota and the Family Play To Learn program in Ontario (Peterborough). **Due to bookings with other families, I am currently only available for occasional daytime and evening care. Additional Experiences/Qualifications: My rate is as follows: $10/hour after 6pm care (eg. Datenights) Up to 2 children. $14/hour - Day time 1 child $15/hour - Day time 2 children
