My name is Taylor and I have always had a passion for working with kids. I have been working with children and adults with special needs for 4 years and have gained knowledge and experience as well as the ability to thrive under pressure. I am quick on my feet and am filled with back pocket ideas to pass time in the most enjoyable way. I love being creative and making use of my time in unique ways. Examples of this are with art (drawing, painting, molding), music, dance, reading, cooking, baking, sports, swimming, board games, card games, etc. I am often acknowledged by others for my patience, kind heart, and willingness to learn about new and interesting things. I have a passion for living life to the fullest and making the most of everyday in order to live a memorable and meaningful life.
I began caring for children when I was 16 and began frequently baby sitting a 2 month old baby girl in the evenings while her parents were out running errands and such. I continued to babysit for the same family as their young twin boys came along and would be responsible for the care of all three children, my responsibilities included feeding, diaper changing, and putting to bed.
3 years ago I began working with the City of Toronto in Summer Camps with children of all ages with special needs (Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Behavior Disorders, ADHD, etc) and have continued for the past 3 summers and have recently started with the fall programming. Responsibilities have included toileting, feeding, changing, administering medications, and being the one on one support person for the child.
