I am currently a third year undergraduate student at the University of Ottawa studying Second Language Teaching to become a French teacher. I love working with kids and aim to be an elementary school teacher in the future. I’ve had various volunteer experiences in which I’ve had the opportunity to work with children, such as: co-operative education placements in High School as well as assisting at Daily Vacation Bible School. I believe this would be a great opportunity for me to gain more experience working with children and improve my communication skills. I am a responsible, hardworking and dependable person who gets along well with others. I was certified last year in Standard First Aid and CPR/AED Level C through the Canadian Red Cross. I like spending time with family and friends, playing Volleyball and reading.

I babysat a few times one summer as needed for a family, when I was 14. I do not have much experience babysitting; I have more experiences of volunteer work with children. In my work with children, both as an event leader at a church day camp and a co-operative education student, I developed strong skills helping, and interacting with others. In my experience being a peer tutor, I developed stronger skills in problem solving, leadership, and communication. In my experiences I have also developed skills to take initiative and to meet the needs of others. In providing care for children, I plan to incorporate the skills I have developed from previous experiences. Additional Experiences/Qualifications:
