Hello, My name is Kayla, and I am currently enrolled in the Nursing Program at the University of Lethbridge. I have also worked with all ages of children from newborns to 17years old in various settings. Day care, after school programs, through nursing practicums, and swimming lessons and coaching are some of the professional interactions with children I have encountered. I am confident with taking care of children, and will be able to attend to any health needs that may arise. I enjoy taking children out, and doing different activities including the zoo, swimming, and play dates. I am an organized, punctual, and outgoing individual that will have the best interest of the children in mind at all times. I have had numerous experiences with children. Starting at 12 years old I babysat all of our family friend's children. These children ranged from age 1-12. - I babysat for various ages of children, and had the responsibilities of caring for the children, taking them on outings as well as care for their nutritional, and hygiene needs. I was a coach for the Barracuda Swim Club for 3 years and coached children ages 5-17. - I coached many children, mostly the younger children of the club. I taught them the basic skills for swimming, as well as played games, and supervised them at swim meets. I have taught swimming lessons for 4 years and these children have been ages 6months-17years old. - During swimming lessons I teach according to the children's skill level. I have taught children of various ages, skills, and abilities. I have been a day camp leader for two summers and have had children ages 3-14. - This job required me to plan activities, be responsible for a number of children, ensure each child had a good experience, as well as care for nutritional needs and safety of each child. I worked at a after school programme with ages 5-14. - This after school programme I was in charge of the kindergarden, and grade one children. I was required to plan activities, ensure children were engaged in activities, and behaviour was appropriate. I prepared snacks for the children, and took them on various field trips. Additional Experiences/Qualifications: Many of my previous positions have involved children. I am a good at multitasking, I am clean, and I will always have the best interest of the children in mind. I am good at setting up play dates, or running errands with children when expected to. I am a motivated person, and learn quickly on the job.

I graduated from Bishop Grandin High School in 2012 with honors. I am currently enrolled in the Nursing Program at the University Of Lethbridge going into my fourth year in the fall. I have completed many practical placements within my school experience. Through my nursing education so far I have become confident in my medical training, and will ensure the utmost safety of the children. I also have various first aid and CPR classes. I have my lifeguarding, and swim instructor certifications which require first aid and CPR expertise.
